Pavement Gallery
2011-2013
Manchester School of Art, Manchester (UK)
Pavement Gallery was a 24/7 window space situated on the corner of the Righton Building at Manchester School of Art. mWith the window as its sole point of public access, Pavement functioned as a striking platform for international contemporary art, sparking engagement across a broad range of perspectives and settings.
Pavement Gallery used to run on an Associate model to provide MA Contemporary Curating students with the opportunity to curate exhibitions and practice their skills. During my MA Contemporary Curating (2011-2012), the space was run by Zoe Watson, Tom Emery, Peter Fallon and myself.
Exhibitions we worked on in various curatorial capacities include:
Mark Titchner: The World Isn’t Working. Exhibition (2013)
Martin Creed: Work No. 268 Half the Air in a Given Space (2012)
David Batchelor: Magic Hour. Exhibition (2012)
Antoni Muntadas: Warning: Perception Requires Involvement (2011)
